Passing of a Legend

Jim Stillwell was instrumental in creating the culture and traditions that make Impact what it is today. His guidance, attitude, and belief in the mission are why we are able to help so many men and women. The Impact Family was heartbroken when Jim passed away in the early morning of August 10th, surrounded by his loving daughters Jessica, Angela, Marci, and their families.

During his 42 years at Impact, Jim created a legacy that continues to help countless addicts find the path they need to a new life. It’s a legacy for which we are grateful and one we aim to honor in a manner befitting the great man who once called this place home.

We are honored to name our Administration building after him, commemorating a man who helped many take their first steps on the path to recovery. Impact has been fortunate to benefit from the insight and dedication James M. Stillwell brought to this program.

Recovery through Health and Wellness at Impact

At Impact we understand the importance of providing avenues for health of all aspects of recovery, as well as encouraging others to have fun as part of building a new life. We are lucky that we’ve been able to support several new programs at Impact that are geared towards providing a structured approach to a life in sobriety.

Thanks to the generosity of a major donor, we’ve been able to start a regular basketball club at Impact, named The Impact Miracles. Additionally, our running club, The Impact Mules, has participated in a 5K almost every month this year. Both of these are opportunities that we are able to provide to the amazing people here, thanks to the support from those who believe in our mission. At Impact, we believe that any mode of recovery that neglects the vital aspect of physical health is not as comprehensive as one that includes it. We are grateful for the community partners who share this vision.

Building Community and Partnerships at Impact

Impact stands apart from most in the treatment landscape in our ability to provide a home for our patients much longer than most. We can do this as a result of our amazing treatment team, and our partnerships with like-minded organizations.

As an embedded member of an amazing community, Impact is building more and more connections to organizations that support its mission. Over the past few months we’ve welcomed volunteers from Invitation Homes, as well as opportunities for our clients to do things they’ve never done before.
